STATEMENT:

After fifty years of creating paintings and sculptures, I find it challenging to pinpoint the reasons behind my artistic endeavors. While I could elaborate on imagining motivations, I believe it is unnecessary. I genuinely enjoy my studio time, finding pleasure in the creative process, the physicality of my craft, and its responsiveness to inspiration.

Inspiration often arises unexpectedly and resonates through my mind until it becomes firmly established. The challenge lies in recognizing it and being prepared for another creative journey.

Occasionally, while working on a project, something new and exciting comes to mind, which encourages me to explore further. I have even paused in the middle of a challenging project to realize that I am simultaneously creating two entirely different items. This realization provides me with even greater motivation to continue.

Ideas have a peculiar way of disappearing and reappearing; they never seem to be truly lost. When I begin thinking about an image, a color, a line, an edge, a composition, etc., something within eventually signals when it is time to embark on a new creative adventure
